Terms
Switchback TV plays streams you provide. It does not sell, host, or license channels.
“We” and “us” below means Switchback TV, the maker of this app. Last updated October 9, 2026.
The app
- Switchback TV is a player. It comes with no channels, playlists, movies, or series.
- You bring your own M3U playlist or provider login. You are responsible for that playlist and for how you use it. Use Switchback TV only with streams you have the right to watch.
- Channels, movies, and series come from the provider you signed in to. We do not supply them, and we do not recommend or sell any provider.
- Playback depends on your playlist, your network, and the TV.
- Settings, recordings, and the phone remote are features of the player. They are not a subscription.
Free trial
- Every TV gets one free 30-day trial. It starts the first time the app opens with an internet connection.
- There is one trial per TV. Reinstalling the app does not start a new one.
- When the trial ends, the app keeps working but shows a reminder now and then until you enter a license code. We may change what the app does after the trial in a later version.
- The trial is free. We do not ask for a card to start it.
License
- A license is a one-time purchase of $15 (US dollars). That is the total price: any sales tax is included. There is no subscription and no renewal fee.
- A license works on one TV at a time. It is tied to that TV the first time the code is entered, or when you buy with a link made for that TV.
- A license has no end date. It works for as long as Switchback TV is offered and its license check at switchback.tv is running.
- The app checks the license with switchback.tv about once a day. If the TV can’t reach switchback.tv, the app keeps working for up to 30 days, then asks to check again.
- If Switchback TV is ever discontinued, the app may stop working once it can no longer check its license, like other software whose maker shuts down. No refunds are given in that case.
- To move your license to a different TV, email support@switchback.tv from the address you bought with. We may limit how often a license can be moved.
- A license is for you. Do not share, sell, or post your code. We can turn off a code that is shared or posted publicly, bought with a stolen card, or charged back. The app finds out the next time it checks in.
- A license is permission to use the app. It does not include any channels or content.
Payments and refunds
- Payments are handled by PayPal. We never see or store your card number.
- All sales are final. The free 30-day trial is there so you can try everything first. See the Refund policy.
Beta codes
- During the beta the app may ask for a beta code. A code works on one TV. It is for you; do not share, sell, or post it.
- The code is checked with switchback.tv as described on the Privacy page.
- We can turn a beta code off, for example if it is shared, posted publicly, or you leave the beta. The app finds out the next time it checks in (about once a day, or after up to 30 days offline).
- On request we can move a beta code to a different TV. Email support@switchback.tv.
- The beta is unfinished software. Features can change, and there will be bugs.
- A beta code is permission to run the app during the beta. It is not a purchase, and it does not include any channels or content.
No warranty and limits
- The app is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
- To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for anything to do with Switchback TV is limited to what you paid us for it.
- Some places do not allow these limits. Where they don’t, they apply only as far as the law there allows.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, USA.
Changes and contact
